Khasiat dan kegunaan
Selain masalah kulit muka dan jerawat, ia juga dipercayai dapat mengubati asma, demam, mengatasi masalah keputihan di kalangan wanita, melawaskan kencing dan menambah susu badan.
Menurut Pegawai Laboratori Fitoubatan, Institut Biosains Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), Tajuddin Abdul Manap, terdapat dua cara untuk melembutkan kulit muka dan mengubati jerawat.Boleh dilakukan dengan meramas-ramas sehingga hancur terlebih dahulu daun bayam duri sebelum ia digosokkan pada muka.Juga boleh diramas terus di muka dan disusuli dengan menyental secara perlahan-lahan.

Perlu diingat bahawa sama ada ia diramas dahulu atau kemudian, ia tidak boleh digosok atau disental kuat kerana ia boleh mengakibatkan kecacatan kulit muka.
Proses ini dilakukan antara lima dan 10 minit sebelum dibilas dengan air bersih serta diulangi sekurang-kurangnya sehari sekali. Daun bayam duri juga dipercayai dapat mengubati asma termasuk mengeluarkan lendir yang berlebihan iaitu dengan meminum air rebusannya.
Tiga atau lima batang bayam duri direbus sekali bersama-sama daun dan bunganya dengan lima gelas air selama 10 minit.

Minum air rebusannya sekurang-kurangnya empat kali sehari dengan sukatan satu gelas untuk orang dewasa dan setengah gelas untuk kanak-kanak.Bagi sakit demam atau menambahkan susu badan, air rebusan seluruh pokok bayam duri perlu diminum dengan sukatan sekurang-kurangnya dua kali sehari.

Manakala untuk melawaskan kencing dan mengatasi masalah keputihan, kata beliau, rebusan hanya menggunakan akar bayam duri.Akar bayam duri itu dibersihkan dan kemudian rebus sebelum meminumnya sekurang-kurangnya sekali sehari. Untuk melihat kemujarabannya, ia perlu diulangi setiap hari sehingga menampakkan kesan.
Meminum air rebusan akar bayam duri sekali-sekala juga boleh mengubati sakit tekak dan lewat datang haid. Air rebusan seluruh pokok atau akar bayam duri boleh dicampurkan gula atau madu secukup rasa.

Pengenalan

Orang Belanda memanggilnya peber manakala di Perancis (poivre), Jerman (pfeffer), Greek (piperi), Itali (pepe), Norway (pepper), Romania (piper), Sweden (peppar) dan Turki (biber).
Dalam bahasa Thai, lada hitam dipanggil prik thai, Tamil (milagoo), Vietnam (hat-tieu), Punjabi (kali marich), Jepun (koshou), Hindi (gol mirch) dan Laos (mak phik noi).
Tumbuhan itu dikatakan berasal dari Malabar di pantai barat India Selatan yang hari ini terletak dalam negeri Kerala. Di Asia Tenggara, lada hitam dikatakan telah tumbuh di Malaysia dan Indonesia sejak 2,000 tahun lalu.

Selain lada hitam Malabar dan Tellicherry dari India serta Belem dari Brazil, lada hitam Sarawak ialah antara yang paling bermutu dan cukup terkenal di serata dunia.
Walaupun ia lebih meluas penggunaannya dalam masakan dan makanan, namun lada hitam juga mempunyai khasiat dan kegunaan dalam perubatan berasaskan herba.
Khasiat dan kegunaan
Pegawai Laboratori Fitoubatan, Institut Biosains, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), Tajuddin Abdul Manap memberitahu, buah lada hitam boleh mengubati pening kepala, cirit-birit dan melawaskan kencing manakala daunnya pula merawat demam.
Buah lada hitam muda yang telah dibersihkan perlu direbus terlebih dahulu sebelum airnya diminum.
Jumlah buah muda yang digunakan bergantung kepada paras air dengan perbandingan satu atau dua sudu bagi setiap satu cawan air.
Selepas masak, air rebusan perlu diminum perlahan-lahan dan amalan ini tidak perlu diteruskan jika sakit kencing tidak lawas, cirit-birit dan pening kepala telah sembuh.
Bagi mengubati demam, daun pokok lada hitam perlu ditumbuk hancur dan kemudian ditampalkan atau diikat pada dahi. Sementara itu, kata beliau, untuk menyegarkan dan memanaskan badan ibu-ibu lepas bersalin, sedikit buah muda yang ditumbuk dengan ikan bilis dimakan bersama-sama nasi yang masih panas.

Pengenalan.

Dengan bunganya yang cantik dan wangi, kenanga menjadi pokok hiasan yang tidak asing lagi di Malaysia. CANANGA ODORATA dalam bahasa Latin dan dikatakan berasal dari Malaysia.
Pokok ini boleh ditemui di negara-negara Asia Tenggara manakala spesies lain juga terdapat di Afrika. Di Malaysia, pokok ini banyak hidup meliar di hutan-hutan. Tingginya boleh mencapai 30 dan 35 meter. Batangnya lurus, berwarna kelabu asap dan terdapat dahan-dahannya yang agak melentur. Daunnya pula membujur tirus dengan tujuh hingga 23sm panjang dan empat hingga 10sm lebar. Bunganya berwarna kuning bergugus-gugus membentuk mahkota dikelilingi tiga helai daun hijau dengan jambak kembang enam kelopak. Di setiap jambak terdapat tujuh biji buah yang berbentuk bujur. Selain tarikan pada kecantikannya, bunga kenanga juga mempunyai kegunaan lain termasuk dalam perubatan berasaskan herba.

Khasiat dan kegunaan
Bunga kenanga berkhasiat mengubati sesak nafas, lelah dan malaria.
Bagi sakit sesak nafas, segenggam bunga kenanga yang telah dibasuh bersih direbus dengan sedikit air sehingga masak.

Ketika menggelegak, masukkan setengah sudu gula pasir dan tunggu sehingga tahap air berkurangan kepada satu pertiga daripada paras asal.Kemudian minum air berkenaan sedikit demi sedikit pada waktu pagi dan petang serta ulangi amalan ini terutama pada hari-hari diserang sesak nafas.

Berbeza dengan kaedah terdahulu, penggunaan bunga kenanga untuk mengubati lelah dan malaria adalah lebih mudah. Ambil tiga kuntum bunga kenanga dan celurkan dalam semangkuk air panas selama kira-kira lima minit atau sehingga air menjadi suam.
Buangkan kuntum-kuntum bunga tersebut dan kemudian minum air itu secara perlahan-lahan. Ulangi dua kali sehari.
Sementara itu, bunga kenanga turut dijadikan ramuan untuk mandi bunga dan juga ramuan air mandian ibu-ibu lepas bersalin.

Famili: Liliaceae Pengenalan Bawang merah kaya dengan pelbagai vitamin termasuk vitamin B1 (thiamin), B2 (riboflavin) dan C (asid askorbik). Ia digunakan dalam Ayurveda iaitu seni perubatan terkenal di kalangan masyarakat India yang percaya ia mempunyai khasiat tinggi mengubati pelbagai penyakit. Khasiat dan kegunaan Dalam buku Indigenous Drugs of India, dinyatakan bawang merah yang dimakan mentah atau diminum jusnya boleh mengurangkan asid di dalam perut, mengubati bengkak termasuk bengkak payu dara, kegatalan dan melegakan saraf serta banyak lagi. Jus bawang merah jika diminum boleh mengatasi masalah kitaran haid yang tidak teratur dan mengubati cirit-birit. Air perahan atau jus bawang merah pula disapu pada tempat luka dan di sekeliling bisul atau dititikkan ke telinga. Manakala bagi sakit buasir, sebiji bawang merah dilayur atau dipanaskan di atas api terlebih dahulu. Kemudian ditekapkan di lubang dubur dan diulangi beberapa kali.Memakan mentah atau meminum jus bawang merah, ia boleh mengubati kencing manis, batuk dan selesema serta membuang kahak dari saluran bronkial.
